Cafe La Buca in Pompano Beach

When I first arrived waiting for my friend I asked for a glass of water without being given an option I was brought a bottled water and charged for it. There was only an option of three or four items for lunch I opted for pasta with meat sauce. Which was very good by the way. They never brought bread until I asked. There wasn't very much of it. Then I had to ask for some grated parmesan. You would have thought these would have been given with your meal without having to ask. There wasn't anyone else in the place and now I understand why, they charged me $26 for my meal which I thought was outrageous. We had to wait forever at the end of our meal to see our waiter again. To which we still left a generous over 20% tip. I was not impressed

Wow..what a surprise...this small unassuming cafe was a totally memorable experience. Two seatings so it was a bit frenetic but handled wonderfully by the overly friendly staff. We started with the eggplant/mozzarella/tomatoe with a drizzle of balsamic - delicious.then the meatballs in a delicate sauce and melted cheese - more delicious. Add some nice roasted peppers and we were pumped. Next we had 2 amazing pastas, ricotta gnocchi in a pesto cream sauce and rigatoni pomadoro with a giant ball of burrata that just melted over the pasta.

The food is really great, but more expensive than I would expect.

What a gem!!! Food was phenomenal .Went for diner, Homemade pasta, no menu. Well portioned and presented. Prices were in line for that quality of food. Got to return to try the brick oven pizza. And they serve lunch.

Bomb, It was by far the best Italian restaurant i have ever been to. No Menu, the Chef Himself comes out and talks to you, its kinda odd but trust me he knows what he is doing and from my experience he has a talent that i cant describe in words, this is a picture of my meal and its fresh swordfish with the most amazing sauce, the olives were unbelievable. I will most definitely be back and i live Fresno CA. Its That Good.

This place is a hidden South Florida Secret. The service was over the top and the food is beyond excellent! The prices are extremely Fair and the dining experience was so much fun. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't find a complaint.

I went to this place last Saturday for the first time not knowing about it and I must say 100% spot on with the pizza and the gentleman who owns it I forgot his name a classy guy a standup guy a patient guy and I couldn’t believe that they’ve been in that spot 12 years that is my new place for going to get pizza and food I know cause I’m a Italian and food pizza is the real thing had the pizza that night that pizza was the best pizza I’ve had since I been in Florida from New York now 14 years

Food very good and authentic napolitain but very pricey. Refused water and charged 6.00 for bottled water. Portions very large. Wood burning oven. BYOB or can order wine (high Mark up). Very comfortable atmosphere. Seating for 45 maximum. Pizza chef chatty with customers. No written menu. Menu recited by waiter so no indication how expensive dishes will be and they are expensive but most can be shared.

Best Italian food you'll find for miles and miles and pages and pages of Yelp for that matter. But it's a secret, so don't rate it or you won't get a table next time. Try the Meatball Salad da Lou, with Chianti, so named because special orders don't upset them.Nice, friendly atmosphere, good service. It's all there.

Found it by accident and I had the best experience ever! Marco is a wonderful host, the food was delicious and the concept of no menu/family style eating is one of the best parts! Make reservations or don't cry when you don't get in, like I saw it happen to others tonight.

We came to this place for a meeting. we heard about this restaurant from many people. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff were so friendly and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We loved this spot very much and we shall absolutely come back again. We recommend this place to all.

We came in without a reservation since we are new in the area but they accepted us. They set up a table in less than 5 minutes. The pasta with alfredo sauce was so good. We also ordered stuffed meatballs with cheese and prosciutto and a side dish of mushrooms and red peppers. We plan on going back again. Really great experience!

This place is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. everytime I want to go to a superb lunch, this place comes straight to my mind. splendid and diverse food and a rich cuisine.well mannered staff, and good mood. And very important, the charge is reasonable. I suggest this place with pleasure.

Not the same! Last few times I have been here the food has been OK and the check has been BIG! I used to crave the food here and made it a point to bring friends/clients here to show them what REAL Italian food is. Unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. No Menu so ASK the prices before ordering. Still a cool little place and definitely appreciated in the area. Great Pizza!

We tried every appetizer, pasta and meat dish. Loved all of it. Fantastic food and service. Great option was to bring your own wine. Nutella dessert was the bomb.I will definitely be back.

This place is sooooo good! Words don't do it justice. I miss being able to eat inside because of the temporary Covid restrictions, but I just did pick-up and it brought me right back. Get the veal parm, its so big they gave it to me in a pizza box, phenomenal!

The off color comment by our waiter at the end of the meal was just not necessary.He also tried to pump up the bill. 5 pasta dishes for our table was just not necessary. Luckily we overrode the waiter.

Excellent food and great experience! The food isn't cheap (but real homemade food never is), but everything we ordered was delicious. Our table of 7 shared 3 pastas, a couple appetizers and a couple desserts and had plenty of food, since it's all family-style. Treated our two daughters (11 & 5) well, making modifications where necessary. Big plus is that you can bring in your own wine (no corkage fee!), but they also sell wine now too. (There's a liquor store across the street with a few decent wines in stock).

Exceptional pizza and hospitality...loved everything though wish we were given opportunity to drink good old tap water as opposed to paying for bottled water. Seems to be taking the European vibe a bit too far...but the owner was onsite and also poured us complimentary wine which more than made up for that small negative. Outstanding experience!

Nice italian restaurant. Not having a menu was different but they definitely knew what they has to serve. Very pricey and not knowing how much it cost wasn't a good thing, especially with children dining. I would only recommend going on a special occasion with a date/spouse.
